Cologne, Germany; January 10, 2012. As Facebook rolls out its Timeline feature for all users, the streaming provider simfy has been on board right from the start. This will allow simfy users who have connected their simfy profile with Facebook to help their friends discover the new music they have just heard. Via the Music Dashboard, which Facebook users can find as the "Music" application in Facebook, users also receive personal music recommendations. simfy integrates seamlessly into the social network's new Open Graph, which was introduced at the f8 developer conference in September.
When using the Timeline, Facebook users see a summary of their activities using applications which are integrated with Facebook's "Graph API". Alongside the Timeline, the Ticker on the Facebook start page shows the latest application activity of Facebook friends. With these features, the Timeline offers users a range of new opportunities to express their individuality on Facebook.
Gerrit Schumann, simfy's CEO, is convinced that many users will share the new feature with their friends: "The Facebook Ticker and Timeline give music users an entirely new source for music recommendations. Users can see in real time what their friends are listening to and with a just click they can listen to the same song and add it to their library. It has never been so easy to swap music tips. The music that users recommend on their Music Dashboard is also another important part of their personal identity and provides their friends with interesting additional information. For example; which special music did they listen to during that particular event? We are thrilled that by using Open Graph, simfy will from the very start become an integral part of German users' Facebook Timeline experience".
